It has already been shown that even elite sports people can gain a lot of benefits from using yoga in their training routines to reduce injuries and recover from injuries already sustained.
The reduction and elimination of injury from the stretching of the muscles and connective tissue is an important factor in boosting performance on the field but there are other benefits that more and more sports people are finding from yoga.
The improvement in their balance is a significant factor in improvement the performance of sports people in many different disciplines.
Consider the effect a competition shooter will have from remaining steadier on his feet while in competition. But it is not only sports such as shooting that will benefit from adding yoga to the training schedule.
The balance and coordination that can be gained from Yoga helps with virtually every form of sport in one way or another.
Sports people in everything from baseball to golf are finding that the improved balance that yoga brings about can lift their performance to the next level and produce the winning result at the end of the day and with the high stakes and big money that is associated with professional sports these days everyone is looking for that edge that will give them an advantage over the opposition.
Often yoga is the added factor that they need and that can make the difference between winning and losing and the size of the pay packet at the end of the day.
Add to that the calmness that yoga allows in stressful situations and that helps to ensure that the sports person will be participating at their optimum levels more often than not with a clear relaxed mind allowing them to excel at what they are doing. Many competitions have been lost to nerves where the best person was the one who remained calm on the day.

This might come as a surprise to you that there have been many cases that have been documented where people who have taken up Yoga have found that has stimulated their hair growth.
This is not quite as silly as it may seem because many of the products on the market these days that are designed to stimulate hair growth do so by increasing the blood supply to the scalp.
And what do you think would be the best method of getting the blood supply to the scalp?
How about standing on your head?
One exercise it is commonly used by people performing Yoga is the inverted position where their legs are in the air with his head resting on the ground.
When this position is performed there is an additional blood supply to the head and people have found that this has actually stimulated the hair growth.
There is documented evidence to support these results and some people have actually shown that they have had better results from simply performing these particular poses in Yoga on a regular basis than they have from using many of the natural hair restoration and re-growth products that are widely promoted in the shops at great expense.
Not only has yoga proven to be very effective for a large number of people but it is also far more cost-effective than buying hair restoring products. After all it costs nothing to stand on your head and if it gives you the results that these other more expensive hair products claim to give then you are winning on both counts.
It will certainly do no harm and even if you are using hair restoration products then doing these yoga exercises will add benefit and the combination of the two might give you much more than expected.
It is certainly worth a try to see whether you get the same results that others have experienced.

One of the benefits that most people find when they begin doing yoga is they learn to breathe correctly in a manner that can bring about a calmness and total relaxation almost instantly.
The more yoga you do, provided you are getting good instruction, the better you will become at this and it will help you to remain calm in situations where you would have previously felt stressed.
Public speaking is one of the greatest fears that most people have and many public speaking courses combine relaxation methods into their training as this helps to eliminate or at least control the fear that can overcome people when expected to speak in front of strangers.
It has been noted that those people who perform yoga exercises on a regular basis are a lot calmer and can control the situation better than those who have not used any form of relaxation or stress relieving techniques.
By remaining calm and in control the fear of speaking will generally subside and the reality of the situation will be a lot easier to accept and control.
Simply breathing correctly will induce a feeling of calm that will be sufficient to help a person through a public speaking engagement.
Yoga has also helped many professional sports men and women to perform at their best by eliminating the tension and anxiety that they feel before events. In all sports optimum performance requires that you remain as relaxed as possible at all times and yoga is just the ticket for helping you to achieve that state of mind and body.
Once again correct breathing techniques will help to calm the mind and the body and help the sportsperson to focus on their event in a relaxed manner for optimum results.
The additional benefit of a more supple body also goes a long way in the prevention of injuries for sport people.
